Australian Minimum Context Gap Training

EE-Oz Training Standards has completed the development of two accredited courses to assist RTOs deliver the Australian minimum context gap for Offshore Technical Skills Record (OTSR) holders of the electrician and refrigeration and air conditioning trades.

These courses are up on Training.gov.au:

RTOs are currently in the process of putting forward their granted License with an extension of scope application to their State Training Authority/ASQA for the Electrician and Refrigeration – Australian Minimum Context Gap Courses.

Once their scope is approved, we will publish the available RTOs for the delivery on our website with their advised course costs.

EE-Oz will continue to work closely with all stakeholders to implement the courses to enable a more streamlined and consistent approach to the delivery of the identified Australian minimum context gap.

The Electricity Supply Industry accredited courses, Cable Jointer - Australian Minimum Context Gap Course and Distribution Lineworker - Australian Minimum Context Gap Course Concept proposals have been submitted to ASQA for accreditation. More information will be available shortly.

The following documents have been developed by EE-Oz Training Standards to assist RTOs deliver the identified Australian Context Training Gap to (OTSR) trade Skill Offshore Assessment skilled migrants. These candidates have been assessed in one of the following countries:

·         United Kingdom

·         India

·         Sir Lanka

·         Philippines and/or

·         South Africa

Candidates have been assessed against one of the following 4 Training Package qualifications:

·         Certificate III Electrotechnology Electrician (UEE30807)

·         Certificate III in Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning (UEE31307)

·         Certificate III in ESI Distribution (UET30206)

·         Certificate III in ESI Cable Jointing (UET30406)

These candidates must undertake the identified gap training with an RTO and under the employment and supervision of a relevant employer in Australian before being issued the qualification and licence where applicable.
